How many of you make personal New Year’s resolutions? More importantly, how many of us actually stick to those resolutions? Setting resolutions is a common activity that a lot of us do for our personal lives but what about career-related resolutions?

Classy.org recently put together a great list of 10 potential New Year’s resolutions for folks who work in the nonprofit industry. Honestly, these suggestions can work no matter your industry. A few examples:

  1. Create a list or RSS feed of your favorite sites to read. By the end of the year, we’re all tired and ready for a break. Create a comprehensive list of the blogs or websites you look to for inspiration. You’re guaranteed to come back to the office refreshed with new ideas.
  2. Call & personally thank donors. You may already do this but if not, what a great way to connect. If you’re not in the nonprofit industry, try calling and personally thanking your most loyal customers.
  3. Resolve to read books that are related to your line of work. There are tons of business resources out there whether you’re a nonprofit professional or in a completely different industry. Set a goal and start reading books to help make 2018 your best [professional] year yet!
