Keeping up with social media is a full-time job — literally. From creating engaging content to snapping photos to share on Instagram, it can be pretty overwhelming to manage. It’s especially difficult for nonprofits who don’t have the bandwidth or resources to have a full communications team.

With a bit of planning and creativity, nonprofits can better manage their social platforms and messaging.

According to Third Sector Cafe, only 12% of those tasked with social media feel equipped yet there’s a 40% increase in donations for those organizations who do social media well. How can we do social media well?

  • Create an editorial calendar — plan out your content in advance
  • Engaging content — create posts that garner reactions from your supporters
  • Provide useful content — share articles related to your mission.
