Today we launch an historic Causeway campaign: the New Camp House. It’s the most ambitious campaign we’ve ever had on the site, aiming to raise $30,000 in under a month from everyone who loves and supports The Camp House. For those of you who don’t know, the Camp House coffee shop started in 2010 by the Mission Chattanooga. Rather than planting a church that sat empty six days a week, The Camp House was started to be a gift to the neighborhood with a vision of fostering community and cultivating culture — what a great example of the power of mixed uses in neighborhood development.

In its new iteration in the City Center / MLK neighborhood, The Camp House will help bring more activity to this neighborhood we believe in so much. We totally admire what they have already accomplished in terms of nurturing an atmosphere of collaboration and creativity in the Southside, and are thrilled to have them bring their energy here. Have you ever noticed that cities and neighborhoods with lots of coffee shops seem to have a lot of cool stuff going on? Check out this Stephen Johnson Ted Talk about where good ideas come from. (Hint: he thinks coffee shop culture is pretty important for innovation and new ideas.)

In the mean time, explore the cause to learn more about their vision for the New Camp House, and join us in supporting a great Chattanooga cause.
