I was working as an investment consultant in HongKong and there is a time I was giving my suggestions to a client, a guy who were running a mining operation and an OTC in Switzerland. And he introduced me to an Exchange of Korea called Coinbit. I was involved in their whitepaper development in the marketing strategy part and back then I start to get interested in blockchain area. I was invited to Waltonchain another project in China than I joined WaykiChain since last year.

This year’s economic environment is not pretty good as we can say it is still downturn during the bear market. However, as the the entire industry is looking for a new trend. The year has became aDeFi year of blockchain industry.

Starting from 2017, ETH locked in DeFi system has been raised from nearly 0 to 2.6 M. So far, hundreds application are running or under development on Etherem. 3

Starting from the beginning of 2019, WaykiChain has been thinking how to design a efficient and secure public blockchain, which aims to provide financial services to crypto currency holders. Because we realized, the crypto community is consist of developer geeks and the rest of them, which is the largest group, are investors and speculators. Financial services are the hard needs of those people and they need some platform that are transparent and they can trust. So we all-in DeFi, and we launched our first DeFi product, WaykiCDP. WaykiCDP is a lending protocal which allows users to borrow WUSD with some collateralization. Now we have over 30M WICC pledged in the system and this takes 15% of the WICC’s total amount.

That’s a very good question. In the real world, a healthy financial system is built in a structured way. We have a central bank, commercial bank and investment banks. Each of them are playing different roles and have different authorities. We believe DeFi eco-system should be built in a similar way, a structured way, instead of just putting Lego blocks together. So our goal is to build a structured decentralized financial system with safety , speed, transparency without any internal middleman, and to indeed realized the massive adoption not only in blockchain area but also the other users out of the industry but also has the finance management needs.

To continue, WaykiChain DeFi ecosystem has already been adopted by launched usercase HuaTong Securities. Which is a pre-IPO platform based in Singapore. They use WUSD to do pre-IPO. Not like the other DeFi project, we don’t only just focus on the technical improvements but also the real adoption to keep our DeFi platform has real value to the finance industry. Hence a project useful is a project could last long.

As more usercases we have, more ppl use WUSD for their financial management, they need to collateralize more WICC in the system which is like another way of luck up. As locked up WICC increased, less WICC will circulating in the market, the price hence raise.

To emphasize, we now have more 33Million WICC collateral in the system. And this is the reason why we ve been so stable and operated normally when ETH crashing down on March 12th. You can check the other DeFI projects’ performance. We really stay holdstill.

Secondly, WaykiChain has more than 200million users in China, they have been following our project for years and keep expending as we are developing and growing. All of those are hold certain amount of WICC and WUSD.

And because our DeFi system is build based on our public chain not ETH, so we won’t be effected by any other price fluctuation of ETH. Benefits : Any interest paid to the System will be repurchased for WGRT destruction, including a partial penalty in the event of liquidation.

Power: Participate in system governance, parameter setting and so on

Obligation: When an extreme market occurs, the system is faced with a shortage of liquidators, and WGRT needs to be diluted to make up for the bad debts.

So the holder, as I’ve just described, is like a shareholder in a central bank, and as long as the system is working well, it continues to generate revenue. That governance currency will continue to deflation, that is, the unit price will rise; That is when the situation is bad, is the occurrence of extreme cases, it will also dilute part of the earnings to subsidize the entire market, but this kind of situation is very rare, even in 312 collapse, governance currency did not issue additional.

4. As a one-stop-shop protocol based in DeFi, how $WGRT overcomes DeFi’s ecosystem problems such as capital inefficiency, low liquidity, unintuitive UX and accessibility, hidden risks and regulation?

The security of a token mainly involves two aspects. The first aspect is that the economic model should not have loopholes, and the second aspect is the security of technology.

In the economic model, we use four mechanisms — excess collateral, the clearing system, the risk reserve, and the emergency circuit breaker — to ensure that the whole system can cope with most market conditions.

In terms of technical safety, we also made a lot of improvements. For example, the asset standards incompatibilities that occurred on Ethereum some time ago would not be available on WaykiChain public chain because our asset are put in the core layer of the chain, and we have defined five common asset standards. The technical architecture solves this problem.

Then there is the predictive machine and the pricing system. Our DeFi system is fed by the 11 super nodes and takes the number by moving the median. We put the whole set of mortgage lending on the core layer, including feed prices, assets distribution, etc., so in case of security incidents, even a single a node being attacked, the data been tampered with, also won’t affect the whole system, unless it’s 51% of the attacks on the entire chain, so that attack cost is very, very big, far higher than the difficulty of the attack a smart contract too much.
In the system, the interest will be used to recycle WGRT and destroy. With the concept who benefit from the system is responsible, when the entire system is in trouble, the potential bad debt will be covered by the inflation of Governance coin WGRT.

DeFi is a landscape still in its early stages, but ripe with potential to massively disrupt traditional financial systems, according to the founders at some of the most cutting-edge companies in the growing ecosystem

I think this is the best thing for DeFi, because these events bring to light the problems that are usually well disguised, such as economic bubbles, leverage abuse, credit crisis, etc., which cause distrust in the traditional financial system. DeFi is a transformation of the traditional financial system, a complete subversion.

Paul Jones thinks the government is overissuing money, so he wants to move his assets into Bitcoin. Any crisis is an opportunity. Traditional finance has been in trouble for more than a day. Most of the money has been taken away by capitalists, some in a reasonable way, and some are simply looted. But more people don’t realize it.

It is good that people do not understand how our money and banking systems work, because if they do, there will be a revolution by tomorrow morning, said Henry Ford. Now black swan events can make people aware of risks and choose a more transparent and fair way to participate in finance before the ultimate risk comes.

DeFi was a natural next step after the introduction of Bitcoin and decentralized money. We’re building this from a first principles perspective. Instead of building on top of the existing financial world, we’re rebuilding everything from scratch, and every projects in this area is building a small component of that.
