What does ING WB Advanced Analytics Do?

The ING Wholesale Banking Advanced Analytics team (aka WBAA), often gets requests for information on who we are and what we do as a team. We love this interaction but want to provide information that is consistent, complete, easy to consume and share. So we decided to create our own infographic!

WBAA is a dynamic, inclusive, multicultural team expanding rapidly with top-notch talent. We work on data-driven algorithmic products that aim to create substantial value for our Wholesale Banking clients. We share knowledge, experiment and arrange hackathons for social good. We actively contribute to open source software and communities and maintain strong connections to academia. Our anchor products -Domino, Katana and Katana Lens- are demonstrating tangible value setting the stage for a number of exciting New Products in the pipeline. We try to fail fast by stopping product development when we cannot validate product desirability, feasibility or viability. We partner with innovative (fin)techs so we can accelerate product development through co-creation.

Doron Reuter -Head of Business Development in WBAA- explains:

“An infographic enables people outside of WBAA to quickly understand all the things WBAA is working on and get a feeling for how we work, so they can approach and collaborate with us in a way which is specific and relevant. It also gives people an overview of the variety of activities required from WBAA to build and implement Artificial Intelligence products. You need to demonstrate thought leadership so you can expand the team with world-class people that bring the capabilities required to develop the building block technology & algorithms, rapidly prototype New Products and bring Anchor Products that have the most impact into production”.

Ellen Maes, Business Developer in WBAA adds:

“The infographic makes it clear that we’re growing massively, we’re creating end-to-end products — sometimes by ourselves, sometimes together with Fin-techs — and we’re a thought leader for the external AI community. To make that happen, our team consists of talents from all over the world and with a variety of backgrounds. They are the driving force behind what you see on the infographic”.
