First it was a spark then it turned into a flame. It was really an amazing moment for students as they gathered together last month at the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Conference Center in Owerri, the state capital of Imo State, to experience the second edition of the high school leadership convention organized by the Transformed Leaders, a youth led organisation founded by Anthony Emeribe.
Anthony and his team with the quest to create a mindshift in young people towards building a solution mindset organized the second edition of the mindset repositioning event "HIGH SCHOOL LEADERSHIP CONVENTION" at the Eastern heartland.
Over 500 students were present from various primary and secondary schools in Owerri with three keynote speakers and eight panellists from within and outside Nigeria.
The students were made to participate in both debate and public speaking contests. The debate topic was on the digital revolution in Nigeria and the public speaking topics were based on solutions to the various sustainable development goals.
The convention featured powerful keynote speeches from guest speakers and panel discussions from experts that left the students with a lot to think about. The expectations of the students came alive as they heard amazing life transforming stories from the different guest speakers and panelists who poured out their hearts and thoughts about what creating a mind shift really is and how it can be achieved.

The students saw in the speakers all they could actually become and that felt so very exciting for them.

The convention ended on a high note as students who participated in various activities at the event went home with various prizes and awards.
All these were made possible because of great support from the Global Changemakers and the Jayden Robinson Youth Foundation who was the chief sponsor of the High School Leadership Convention 2021. We also received contributions in-kind from Rapido Foods who took care of the feeding of the students at the high school leadership convention.
In the end, the students left with new ideologies to change the narrative and to make a great difference in the world around them. It was really a convention to inspire!!!
