What do you do at HoneyBook?
As a UX Researcher, I lead our Fintech product research!
How long have you been at HoneyBook?
1 year officially :)
How did you get started with your passion?
I left my job as an associate attorney at a prominent law firm knowing that my heart was with entrepreneurship. I longed for a more independent career where I had more control over my future and could make money being creative.
What’s your next goal with your passion?
Further automating my business using HoneyBook. I’m currently developing easy-to-book packages using Smart Files for my team, and curating a Two Roads self guided experience that allows couples all over the country to engage in a streamlined approach to self-planning and designing their own wedding.
If you could give someone with the same passion a piece of advice, what would it be?
The only way out is through. You learn so much from operating a business that requires stumbling and sometimes falling. Making peace with the losses makes the wins that much sweeter.
Does your passion help you in your role at HoneyBook? If so, tell us how!
Oh, absolutely. I’ve been a user for a long time. I understand the user mindset, and have a foundational knowledge for what small business owners need. How they feel when navigating the product. I’ve said before that working at HoneyBook feels like a crash MBA course. On a near daily basis, I learn from leadership, the team, and our users what various forms of business operation can look like and it’s AWESOME.
And lastly, what do you love most about working at HoneyBook?
Being a small business owner, opposed to the mass produced/big box, and extremely passionate about passion projects — working for HoneyBook allows me to make a difference for other Independents and help to build the kind of world I want to live in. I feel so incredibly fortunate to work for a company who’s mission so closely aligns with my own values.
