Greetings Talisman Community!
As we’ve previously discussed here, we are taking an iterative approach to community building, and our long term goal is decentralisation and community-ownership. After consultation with the community, we’re rolling out a revamped Talisman Sentinels initiative.
We’re inviting everybody from the DotSama community to participate in Sentinels: Phase 2. What’s new?
Work Scopes — Clear areas of work downstream Talisman’s core objectives for people seeking to contribute.
Teams — Independently-organized Sentinel teams with well-defined budget and roles.
Captains — Teams will have their own leaders who will coordinate team activities. These captains will be communicating closely with the Guardians to ensure ongoing alignment.
Incentives — Contributing Sentinels will be compensated in USDC as well as the newly introduced Commendations NFTs, which will honour outstanding contributions to Talisman.
Commendations
In order to create an accurate and timely on-chain record of contributions from community members, we are introducing commendations. These valuable NFTs will be distributed by Sentinels and Guardians, respectively. We intend use them as a community identity tool that will enable us to form stronger relationships with our contributors and reward ongoing contributions.
Sentinel Captains
Sentinel Captains will lead the charge and be responsible for coordinating and incentivizing the Sentinel teams. These roles may be rotated at a later time.

What do we want to achieve?
In Phase 2, we will be launching two new Sentinel teams: Paraverse Watch and Signals Corps. Sentinels will be working collectively on the following goals:
- Establish a translation team
- Establish a moderation team
- Establish a bug/feature reporting team
- Onboard and grow the Talisman community
More specifically, the jobs of each of the teams are:
Paraverse Watch
Our community’s first line of defense.
- Respond to bug reports and manage tickets
- Maintain discord threads
- 24/7 discord moderation support
Signals Corps
Masters of frequency and wavelength.
- Content and locale translation
- Maintain international discord channels
- Distribute communications to international communities
