Talisman raises $2.35m to unite the Paraverse 🧿
We’re stoked to announce that we’ve raised $2.35m in a seed round led by Hypersphere Ventures and supported by numerous DotSama ecosystem funds and founders.
The mission of Talisman is to help anybody master Web3 and ‘traverse the Paraverse’ with ease. Securing funding and garnering the support of the Polkadot ecosystem is an important step toward fulfilling that mission. We look forward to growing our team and building essential wallet infrastructure that will help new Web3 users to take their first steps in the Paraverse of Polkadot and Kusama.
We’re very excited to lead the round for Talisman and help support DotSama wallet infrastructure. As the ecosystem is growing with new parachains and projects launching every week, there definitely needs to be more variety in tools for Polkadot and Kusama. Polkadot-JS is great for development, but Talisman is aiming to become the Paraverse gateway for everyday crypto users.

We strongly believe that software should be built and maintained for the benefit of the user, and Web3 makes this possible. We’ve previously described Talisman as a community-owned wallet for the multi-chain future, and still maintain a vision of community-ownership and full decentralisation.

Semper Talisman 🧿
It’s full steam ahead at Talisman! We will be releasing an early version of the Talisman wallet extension on November 22nd as part of a closed Alpha exclusive to the Talisman community. With our upcoming launch, we feel that it is important to acknowledge and honour all the hard work done by Parity Technologies, as Talisman wouldn’t have been possible without them. Our initial extension is based upon Parity’s Polkadot-JS codebase and features an improved transaction experience, multi-chain asset balances, and extended API for application developers to build composable applications more easily.
In order to inform our wallet development and help catalyse composability, we’re also building DotSama’s first asset dashboard. Our ultimate vision for the dashboard is to create a ‘launching-off place’ for new users to explore and learn about all the parachains that comprise the Paraverse. Some of the core features on our asset dashboard roadmap are:
