This is part of this plan. When a human becomes unable to work, they are generally in poor over-all health and do make a stench as they fall down and rot if left there. It is why we burn or bury them after they are full dead. You can just let them die of starvation and dehydration first if necessary, you know! Or shoot them. That works too. Cages work well if you want to apply starvation and/or dehydration as instruments to extract suffering and information before death.
