Mr. Maher? I watched him for a little while and then for some reason it hit me that he was making a fortune and gaining popularity among humans because he was dissing conservative points of view when it was popular and lucrative to do so. I was just old enough to remember when it was hot to pump conservative views! Dick Cavett anyone?

That put me off watching him. A) conservative views aren’t all diss-able; B) making money for the sake of money irriates the bejesus and his dead dog out of me; and C) my time is limited on this Earth and I treat it as such.

As Mr. Maher has moved with the rest of the crowd to love on Trump, that ancient point of view was strengthened in me. Mr. Maher was about to make another fortune by angering libruls. Can anyone give him enough attention? No. Okay. As for Mr. Trump, he simply must be charming when in person. But, if you watch his behavior over decades, in my case since the 1980s, a different man emerges. He has benefited from an accident of birth. He was prominent and rich from conception until now. He has been able to coerce and coddle lawyers and the judicial system. He has survived the crash and burn of multiple businesses and convinced the world the Apprentice was the real Trump. Damn. That takes some serious in the face as well as wide popular charm, which he has oodles of. His own mother saw this but also said, if he ever gets power there will be trouble. There is indeed, all kinds of trouble, that few care about. They want to be charmed. And they are!
