Behind We Encourage: Introducing the team — Meet our AI Advisor Gokul
Welcome to our second installment of meet the team. This time our AI advisor Gokul is providing insight into why he joined our team!
Why We Encourage?
We Encourage is doing something that the society can benefit from, and the impact of this project is going to be massive. I’m really excited to be a part of this team that’s driven by passion to bring good things to the society.
Gokul came aboard our mission after a post from Anna via a mutual contact in October and November 2019 and we are grateful that he reached out and understood that there are a lot of good things to come from this project. He would like to see the We Encourage project successfully deployed in different parts of the world and be able to help victims of violence and abuse better than ever before.
What does he do?
He is our technical advisor and advises the team on what type of AI algorithms can be used and helps the team select the appropriate platform for deploying AI solutions. Before this he was the Co-founder and CTO of a startup in Finland that was doing drone deliveries and also a defense contractor that was implementing AI for various military and aviation applications
Motivations and Morals
What motivates me is the fact that once this project is successfully deployed, the AI used in this project will effectively save several lives and make the life of victims better. This is worth more than money, awards, patents, or anything like this. This is the purest form of satisfaction and peace of mind an AI scientist like me can get.
He also believes in the importance of inclusion, diversity, gender, equality, peace, not causing harm and paying things forward.
If it wasn’t for the people that helped me in the past, I wouldn’t be here. So, it is my moral responsibility to pay it forward and do as much as I can to help others and give back to the community.
Make 3 changes on Earth and choose a superpower
1. “Abolish money and credit system Human beings have reached a point where money is more valuable than love, affection, relationships, empathy, and almost anything. This is not sustainable at all”
2. “Prioritize climate change and emission and pollution control”
3. “I would desperately try and change the education system to enable and encourage the next generation to see things differently. The younger generation needs to see that there is a world outside of the smartphone and TikTok-like platforms.”
