The Worst and Bestseller
I’m an author, did you know?
As an author, the worst part is putting your heart and soul into your books and then never selling a single copy. I’ve been there many times and it’s taken a toll on me. Here’s the thing I realized; those bestsellers are not more special than mine. I write the best Mason Bushell as much as the top author writes the best them. The only difference is they have a famous face and a bulging bank account.
Let me show you what I mean with a little poetry…
The Worst and Bestseller
Somebody penned a newfangled book
It boasts ninety thousand words
The cover has an evocative look
Ruckus people are buying in hungry herds
The writer didn’t make a pitch
To succeed he never had to try
It was because he was filthy rich
His famous face made everyone buy
I’m an author did you know
I penned fantasies and mysteries too
Yet when I put my tales on show
I gained no interest and sold so very few
I thought my stories were great
People disagree through no sales
This is no time to remonstrate
I know I wrote some special tales
