Whenever I purchase something on eBay, my favorite part of the transaction is the exchange of feedback. For a split second, a stranger becomes your biggest fan. The love you so desired, yet never received, from your parents your entire life is summed up in one string of text and symbols:

°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø TOP SHELF TRANSACTIONø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°

Gone from online auctioning are the restrictive rules of grading and high praise. You not only get an A+ for paying quickly and responding to messages in a timely manner, but many A’s followed by even more +’s.

FAST PAYMENT! GREAT BIDDER. THANKS!!! AAAAA +++++++

But just as easily as eBay feedback can raise you up to Beyoncé status, it can bring you right back down to Ashlee Simpson with just a single red negative feedback button.

Buyer says jacket was damaged, yet didn’t give me a chance to correct problem.

The most beautiful part of the feedback cycle is the paying it forward. When you receive positive feedback, it is your obligation as a part of the online auctioning society to send back even more positive vibes.

GREAT SELLER — THANKS FOR HELPING ME MAKE MY IPHONE A LITTLE MORE SEXIER Y’ALL!!

It is safe to say that I gained all of my positivity and confidence in life from eBay feedback, as I used that functionality as a practice ground for real life positive reinforcement. Telling someone they are awesome, in turn, makes me feel awesome. EVERYONE WINS A++++

SWEET SASSY MOLASSY THAT WAS ONE AWESOME TRANSACTION. THANK YOU NICE LADY!!!!!!

There’s a lot of negativity on the World Wide Web, but if you have access to a bank account and a post office, it is easy to get the positive reinforcement that you have been waiting to get from your boss since your last employee review over three years ago. Go out there and get it, GREAT READERS AAAAA++++++++++++++!
