Latinos Owned The First Round Of Battles On “The Voice”

The contestants of “The Voice” have moved on to The Battle Rounds and the first round of battles featured plenty of Latinos.

Team Alicia’s Christian Cuevas was the first up. He took on Jason Warrior, singing “Hello” by Adele.

Cuevas started slow and controlled, giving the audience instant chills and goosebumps.

Cuevas left it all on that stage and belted the international smash hit with so much emotion.

Cuevas was the first Battle Rounds contestant to win over their coach because, well, he killed it. Alicia Keys made the right choice and, if you watch the performance, it is clear that Cuevas was the winner.

Another Team Alicia battle lit up the stage as Lauren Diaz fought it out with Wé McDonald, singing Janis Joplin’s “Maybe.”

Diaz gave the song so much attitude and life that Keys had a very tough decision to make about who was going to stay and who was going to leave.

Diaz tried to show the world and the judges that she deserved to stay but Keys picked McDonald.

But don’t feel bad for Diaz. Miley Cyrus was quick to steal Diaz so she will be around a little bit longer.

Welcome to #TeamMiley!

Texas native Courtnie Ramirez then went toe-to-toe with Ali Caldwell giving Odetta’s “Hit Or Miss” a super soulful rendition.

Her stage presence made all the judges pay attention even though she was competing with one of the toughest contestants. Caldwell got all four judges to turn around during her blind audition.

Check. Her. Out.

Despite totally owning the stage, Cyrus chose to stick with Caldwell giving Keys her chance to steal this incredible Latina singer.

Keys is one lucky judge to steal Ramirez. She seems very happy to have joined #TeamAlicia.

Latinos everywhere were watching “The Voice” with so much pride like:

¡Dale! ¡Wepa! ¡Orale! ¡Bien hecho! It must be so hard to make these decisions because they are all just that good.
