For our first live chat we will be inviting 2 of our partners from the UK5G Testbed and Trial project Smart Junctions Project; Raquel from Vivacity Labs and Sam Li from Transport for Greater Manchester.

About Vivacity

Vivacity’s vision is to make cities smarter, safer and more sustainable by helping to optimise the transport network and improve urban infrastructure. They have recently been awarded the prestigious Queen’s Enterprise award.

Raquel Velasco is Head of Product at Vivacity and has spent the last two years there leading the product and commercial direction of the Smart Junctions solution. Before Vivacity, Raquel worked in a variety of product management roles at both small startups and a large energy company. She holds a Masters degree in Physics from the University of Oxford and an MBA from London Business School and is passionate about driving innovation and technology in the public sector.

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is the local government body responsible for delivering Greater Manchester’s transport strategy and commitments. More than 5.6 million journeys are made across Greater Manchester’s transport network each day. It’s their job to do everything we can to keep the city-region moving and growing. “Sam Li is a Senior Innovation Officer at Transport for Greater Manchester, UK (TfGM). With over 10 years of experience working in the mobility sector in both private and public organisations. Currently leads the development within sector of AI & Data , Smart Cities, Future of Connectivity, Mobility as a Service and Cyber Security. Driving the strategic focus of the TfGM Innovation team which operates as the “pathfinder” to the organisation, to identify opportunities and risk within future mobility solutions through real-world implementation. Working in partnership with SMEs, Innovators and academic partners to transform the region into an innovation living lab to deliver impactful solution to the people of Greater Manchester. With the key aim to develop and create solution blueprints within the fabric of the region, that are scalable and replicable to city regions in the UK and around the world, creating a shop window for future mobility innovations.
