Web 3 landscape has seen a frenzy of innovation alongside the bull market. The infrastructure and tooling layer of Web 3 is maturing, but cohesion between these leading Web 3 players is needed to foster the next generation of Web 3 projects.

Blockchain infrastructure is maturing at a rate that realizes the possibility for decentralized, Web 3 applications. Our goal is to take advantage of these blockchain innovations that make low-cost decentralized computing and storage possible, to create one of the first Web 3 applications that have a frictionless user experience comparable to Web 2 applications.

We are entering the deployment phase of Web 3, in which decentralized applications (dApps) built on existing infrastructure and protocols will proliferate, and become widespread in the near future.

We want to partner with leading Web 3 players like these to push forward the development and adoption of the decentralized internet.

To do this, we at EthSign are joining forces with all dApps, protocols, blockchain networks, and infrastructure projects that share our vision to form a Web 3 Collective. By coordinating efforts, this Collective seeks to create essential resources and partnerships to expedite the development and adoption of Web 3.

Our current members include (not listed in order):

  • EthSign: The first programmable electronic signing and execution platform. It facilitates the creation of code-based contracts that go hand in hand with paper-based contracts to enable terms to execute based on predetermined, measurable on/off-chain trigger conditions.
  • Ankr: An all-in-one portal built to support the growth of Web 3.0. It provides multi-chain DApp development tools, crypto staking solutions, and decentralized global node infrastructure that powers it all.
  • Biconomy: A multi-chain, meta-transaction infrastructure that simplifies the Web 3 onboarding and user experience by providing flexible options to simplify gas transactions.
  • Clover Finance: A substrate-based, EVM-compatible blockchain platform, focused on multi-chain and cross-chain compatibility for DeFi applications. Clover currently provides a wide range of multi-chain products including an Extension wallet, a Web Wallet, and mobile wallets for Android and iOS.
  • Gitcoin: Connects the community developing digital public goods, creating financial freedom, and defining the future of the open web via their leading open-source software bounty platform.
  • HAL: HAL is a blockchain data provider and easy-to-use automation and analytics tool democratizing access to web3.0 infrastructure merging decentralized and centralized systems to allow companies, traders, and institutions to track, trigger and monitor activity without writing a single line of code via easily-integrated APIs.
  • Mask Network: Aims to be the bridge between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0, and the portal to the new, open internet by allowing users to seamlessly send encrypted messages, cryptocurrencies, and even DApps (Defi, NFTs, DAO) over the top of mainstream social networks.
  • Polygon: The leading platform for Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development. Its growing suite of products offers developers easy access to all major scaling and infrastructure solutions: L2 solutions (ZK Rollups and Optimistic Rollups), sidechains, hybrid solutions, stand-alone and enterprise chains, data availability solutions, and more.
  • Torus: Torus is the most secure passwordless authentication and private key management platform. Torus combines the simplicity of passwordless authentication with the security guarantees of non-custodial Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to deliver a robust lineup of authentication and key management tools through a simple SDK.

The Collective will create a unified community of Web 3 supporters through the following initiatives that are intended to educate the burgeoning crypto developer community to facilitate new project innovation, provide accessible funding to these early projects, and give new Web 3 users the tools to learn about the space.

Hackathons: The Collective, in collaboration with BitDAO & MoleDAO, will host online/offline hackathons to expand developer communities, and to support early projects with grants and industry support. These workshops and hackathons will serve as a breeding ground for projects that will funnel into our incubator.

Workshops: Members of the collective will co-develop a series of workshops intended to educate community members and college students on how to build and deploy in Web 3 using blockchain infrastructure. Topics include private key management (DID), middleware protocols, smart contract networks, de-storage networks, etc.

Collegiate Support: EthSign has deep connections with various university blockchain groups, founder of EthSign also founded Blockchain@USC. They will be the initial adopters of our workshops, hackathons, and curriculums. College is a premier hub of entrepreneurial talent. After participating in our workshops we expect students to use their newfound understandings of Web 3 to develop new ventures!

Collective Incubator: The collective can form an incubator to provide early support for these ventures. The incubator will support the expansion of the collective’s members’ ecosystems by providing funding and technical support to these projects. The collective’s investment DAO will provide funding to projects that come out of workshops, the incubator, and the collegiate network. On demo day, developers will have the opportunity to present their work to contestants, judges, and investment institutions around the world to gain exposure for the project.

Web 3 Curriculum: The content for the collective’s workshops will be developed by and catered toward building using collective members’ projects. The collective will iterate upon its Web 3 curriculum over workshops, incubator cohorts, and hackathons; the resulting curriculum will be a comprehensive guide to learning about, building in, and launching a venture in Web 3. Facilitated by our close working relationships with college blockchain organizations, we envision working with top universities to fill the blockchain & crypto knowledge gap in institutional academia with our up-to-date, practical, tried and tested curriculum developed by the leaders of Web 3.

Aniket Jindal, Co-founder of Biconomy “Along with user-experience (UX), user education is one of the largest bottlenecks for Web 3 user onboarding. Biconomy is tackling the UX issue by building the future of decentralized transactions under the imperative of ease and accessibility for developers and end-users. We’re delighted to be a part of the Web 3 Collective to push forward educational initiatives that will accelerate Web 3 adoption.”

Zhen Yu, CEO of Torus adds “Torus aims to make digital ownership and identity human-centric and accessible to everyone. The Web 3 Collective is bringing together leading Web 3 players to coordinate educational support for developers, which will undoubtedly accelerate innovation.”

Potter Li, Co-founder of EthSign (Web 3 Collective Initiator) commented, “Blockchain innovations that make low-cost decentralized computing and storage possible give rise to Web3 applications that have user experiences as frictionless as Web2 applications. EthSign is built on this vision. We wish to partner with leading Web3 projects to push forward the development and adoption of the decentralized internet.”

DAO: Web 3 Collective may turn into a DAO in the future.

Next Step: Moledao Hackathon

The Collective’s initiatives will be kickstarted with a hackathon hosted by BitDAO & Moledao in collaboration with the Web 3 Collective to jointly expand the Web 3 application ecosystem. Moledao Hackathon is where the best developers will come together to turn innovative blockchain ideas into reality under the theme of Buidl. Grow. Empower.

During the competition, developers can participate in Workshop training courses and office hours to improve their technical levels and project designs. On demo day, developers will have the opportunity to present their work to contestants, judges and investment institutions around the world to gain exposure for their project.

This pioneering global hackathon will be held in the metaverse and is taking place on November 15th 2021to January 9th 2022. Web 3.0 is the vision for the next internet generation that is decentralized, verifiable, and secure.

Web 3.0 Hackathon is supported by Bybit, BitDAO, Web3 Collective, and Blockchain Infrastructure Alliance, which includes established organizations like EthSign, Mask, Torus, Biconomy, Polygon, PingCAP, and Alchemy Pay.
