Duck, Duck, Mint: Why Jeep Should Launch 10,000 Unique NFT Ducks đŸ„

An open letter to the Jeep. Let’s do something super cool for the Jeep community! I’ll even help you for free!

This particular image is courtesy of Midjourney AI. That said, the project described herein would not feature AI imagery. Rather, I’d propose using hand-drawn, human-created art for this — classic and much more collectible, as this project would demand.

Today I learned about an interesting trend — “Jeep Ducking.” Have you ever heard of Jeep Ducking? If you drive a Jeep, I bet you have. (I’ve always loved Jeeps, btw. I drive a Blazer, but still.)

For those who don’t know (like me, up until today), “Jeep Ducking” is a trend where Jeep owners carry around little rubber duckies and they basically award them as presents to other Jeeps that they see out in the wild.

So, yeah, if you own a Jeep, it’s apparently not uncommon to return to your Jeep and find a rubber duckie waiting for you. And then, of course, the duck recipients proudly display their ducks on their dashboards.

How have I never noticed this! (Have I been living in a cave or something?!) I love my Blazer, but damn, I feel kind of left out!

đŸ„From Dashboards to Digital Wallets: Why It’s Time for Jeep Ducks to Evolve

Marketing is a funny thing, eh? Even for world-class corporations, sometimes super brand-positive phenomena originate on their own (here’s how it happened) and turn into something amazing.

Jeep’s parent company, Stellantis, has clearly taken note of the ducking trend, having done some duck-related moves like renting the world’s largest rubber duck for an event in 2022.

What they haven’t done, at least not to my knowledge, is to bring the duck trend to the blockchain to engage brand enthusiasts in the digital realm.

đŸ„Ready to Help Jeep Fly (or at Least Waddle) into the NFT Space

And that’s where I’d love to come in and help. As someone who’s been on 30+ large-scale generative NFT sets, I can easily recognize a successful project in the making — and this one has all of the elements primed and ready.

🚙What Am I Proposing?

Specifically, I think Jeep should consider a 10,000 (minimum) NFT drop — 10,000 unique and fun digital rubber duckies on the Ethereum blockchain. In case you’re not sure what that means, or how we could construct 10,000 unique ducks, perhaps this image will help. (This image will feature DOGS, but in your mind imagine DUCKS instead!):

Or 15,000. Or, 20,000. The final number would depend on various TBD specifics.

But yes, what we do is to have an artist draw a large collection of traits, and then we programmatically mix them up into unique artworks. Sample traits might include:

  • background colors / patterns
  • feather colors / patterns
  • clothing options
  • jewelry options
  • hat options
  • “additional stuff” options
  • and whatever else we can imagine (there are no rules here!).

🚙And Then What?

After we make them, we would need to distribute them — which is where everything gets super fun and interesting. I’ve actually written more than 200 articles on how these large-scale generative NFT drops work. See here:

But Jeep would have SO many options! You could make the NFTs completely free or you could charge for them to raise money for any or all of Stellantis’ core philanthropic focus areas. Or, you could do something completely new/different.

I have a ton of ideas and considerations for this, so if you’re Jeep, reach out anytime!

❀Will Jeep Lovers Value This?

Oh, I think they’d go nuts for this — especially if it’s handled well. I also asked Grok (X.com’s AI) about demographic crossover between Jeep owners and crypto in general. It confirmed my suspicions along many factors — particularly age, gender, financial background, geographic focus, and common interests. So, the business case is there fairly strongly.

đŸ„šSo, What Do You Say, Jeep? Want to Hatch This Together?

I suspect, if you’ve read this far, you know that NFTs have had their big moment in the spotlight already(2021 being the absolute wildest time for them). But community-driven projects, including cool, creative, and fun digital collectibles are definitely still welcome — especially if they’re handled by someone who’s been around the block(chain), so to speak, in terms of best practices for projects like this.

IMHO, Jeep, you have something that’s so delightfully organic that it’s begging for on on-chain presence.

That’s why I’m offering to help for free here — not because I need work (although, hey — call me if you’ve got some), but because this could be a super-cool project with a ton of community-building magic. So, let’s expand the dashboard phenomenon into a digital one, carefully orchestrated to optimize all aspects of this into something newsworthy and exciting.

I’m ready when you are. đŸ„đŸš™
