What the Hell Are “Zitty Brits”? Looking at a (Practically Free) Mint

An interesting ERC721 dreivative of an Ethscriptions derivative.

In a recent article, I took a look at the ittybits Ethscriptions drop. It was wildly successful and has remained consistently above mint price, although the floor price seems to swing between about 0.06 and 0.1 ETH (or so) lately. A number of fairly big names in the NFT space took notice and bought into the collection, prompting a lot of activity on Twitter.

Yesterday, this set dropped out of nowhere, with basically zero fanfare. Take a look at this Twitter post:

Zitty Brits is an interesting drop because (1) it’s a derivative of a derivative, and (2) it’s probably the first time we’ve seen an ERC721-based derivative of an Ethscriptions-based launch. It’s not a derivative in the usual sense, though, as the art and whatnot is completely different from ittybits. Instead, it looks to be more or less a joke that depends wholly on the fact that the name Zitty Brits rhymes with ittybits.
