INTERVIEW WITH JOHANNA CAMPION, MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AT WEB FINANCIAL GROUP

With 25 yearsʼ experience advising corporations, shareholders, private equity investors, family offices and management and a particular focus on the media and telecom sectors, Johanna Campion has spent her career providing senior level strategic advice in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and review of strategic alternatives. She has advised on completed transactions with a total value in excess of $160bn with a very broad geographic diversity.

She started her career with Merrill Lynch in Mergers & Acquisitions in London focused on cross border transactions and did two secondments to their Paris office. She has worked for Credit Suisse and Lehman Brothers building her understanding of the media and telecom sectors through both M&A and a large number of IPOs. After Lehman, she set up her own advisory business which she ran until joining Société Génerale where she spent five years as Global Head of Telecom, Media and Technology. Since leaving Société Générale she has taken an active role in the UK venture capital community, becoming an active angel investor with particular interest in Fintech and Adtech, -over 25 investments to date-, and joined both Collider, a UK based marketing and advertising accelerator and Ignite, Europe’s largest angel led accelerator, as an investor and advisor.

Now she has joined Web Financial Group as member of the Board of Directors contributing with her vision and prolific background to the expansion of the company.

What is your vision about the future of banking and how do you think that Web Financial Group can help banks to compete against their own culture and business barriers?

Banking in general and the wealth management industry in particular is entering a period of significant change and disruption. This brings a great opportunity for companies such as Web Financial Group with robust and technically advanced solutions.

As customer expectations have evolved and digital ways of doing business become the norm, this has presented major technology, marketing and service challenges to retail financial institutions both in banking and wealth management.

Web Financial Group has a broad range of solutions that can be combined to solve many of these problems for their clients in a persistent, cost effective and compliant way and allow them to deliver truly personalized solutions to individual customers. I believe this comprehensive range of solutions will be welcomed by many institutions which recognize the scale of the challenge and the work they need to do to retain and grow their customer base in a highly competitive environment.

How do you see Web Financial Group changing in two years?

The next couple of years is a natural and exciting evolution from where the group is today, taking its attractive and sophisticated set of solutions to a much wider universe of clients which will transform the scale of the business.

Hence I look forward to working with the Board of Web Financial Group to capture this significant growth opportunity in the next two years, not just in Europe but also in the US and beyond.
