WordPress on GCP tutorial series

There are many SSL providers, and I will demonstrate what would an entire process from application to installation on GoDaddy look like.

Purchase the SSL products on GoDaddy

  1. The first thing to do, absolutely, is logging in to your GoDaddy account, and purchase the SSL product.
  2. Now you have to turn to your web server and generate certificate signing request (CSR).
  3. [::Apache Server Only::] Access your SSL and paste following codes on it (usually will be created under root directory).

4. Open that CSR and copy the contents into the GoDaddy application page.

5. Wait around 3–5 days, GoDaddy will mail you the certificates.

Installation

  1. You should receive two files from GoDaddy, now upload them under your server folder (I would suggest putting them into .ssh folder).

2. Access your SSH again.

3. Paste the following codes.

4. Scroll down the page with your keyboard. Place a # sign next to each of the two placeholder certificates, and paste the path to your three SSL certificate files (including the CSR file).

5. Make sure you’ve done the redirect process, now restart your server.

6. You can check your SSL works or not via SSLShopper.
