Today was release night and I am happy to bring to you v2.9.5 of Web Maker :) This release comes with small but important UX improvements. Let’s dive in.

External library search improvement

Add external library panel has textareas wherein you put each library url in a new line that you want to insert in your creation. For long, it had a not so prominent feature where you were shown suggestions as you type anything in those textareas. But since developers generally copy/paste library URLs, mostly they never encountered the auto-suggestion behavior.

To fix this, Add library panel now has a separate search input where you can simply type a library name and choose from the available options. This is all powered by cdnjs search API.

Keyboard shortcuts list

You can see a list of all available keyboard shortcuts in the app by clicking the keyboard icon in the footer or by pressing Ctrl/ + Shift + ? anytime.

Pane collapsing UX improvement

Pane collapsing/expanding behaviour has been refactored to more intuitive. Double clicking the pane header now make them fullscreen, if not already. This makes it easier to focus on a single code pane which required multiple clicks previously.

Other improvements and bugfixes

The release comes with various other bug fixes and improvement like fix screenlog.js 404 in the exported HTML, allowFullscreen attribute on preview iframe, version upgrade of popular external library list.

Update your Web Maker extension now to make your Web Maker better.
