NFT.NYC 2022, which was held in Times Square on June 20–23, returned with a three-day in-person event that have attracted more than 15,000 attendees, and over 1,500 speakers from 42 countries to talk about NFT, art, music, blockchain, and more. Celebrating its fourth anniversary, we can say that NFT.NYC definitely marked its spot as the largest and most renowned NFT conference in the world — and before we go into the winners for this year’s annual NFT awards, let’s first have a sneak peak on the NFT.NYC attendees and their wallets 🧐.

NFTs in Crypto Winter? 🥶

The atmosphere around the event and the crypto space was quite different from last year. We are currently facing a bear market (a.k.a. Crypto Winter), and numerous projects are going through a period of uncertainty and doubt. However, many people still believe that NFTs will bring a fundamental change in the way we live in the future. As I have written in my previous article regarding Soulbound Tokens (SBT), the technology is continuously evolving and there are so many ways it can be utilized in our lives. Though we may be going through a crypto winter right now, the future may not be so dark at all.

“NFTs are going to disrupt most industries — identity, ticketing, brands, music, fashion, real estate, and more. We are still at a very early stage. This is the beginning of a long-term trend.” — Jodee Rich, co-founder of NFT.NYC
