Spearheading Decentralized Social Media

The Web3 Foundation is pleased to announce Evan Thomas as the latest Decentralized Futures grant recipient. His selection underscores our ongoing effort to foster innovative and decentralized solutions within the blockchain community.

Evan has a decade of combined experience in digital marketing and helping tech companies reach their ambitious growth targets. Most recently, he was a part of Parity’s comms team.

He is an active member of the Polkadot community, and looks forward to collaborating closely with the other DFP grant recipients to ensure Polkadot’s marketing narrative is aligned across all channels.

His project will focus on implementing a decentralized social media framework that aligns seamlessly with the ethos of the Polkadot ecosystem. This grant represents a belief in a new paradigm of social media management, where community participation is at the forefront.

The Role and Impact in Polkadot

The goal of the grant is to effectively decentralize conventional social media operations.

The framework, which was created based on the feedback of community members, will incorporate the strengths and agility of a structured marketing entity, while also creating a mechanism for the community to contribute in an organized way.
