We are excited to announce the 18th Wave of grants accepted through the Web3 Foundation Grants Program. As part of our commitment to fostering a robust and innovative Web 3.0 ecosystem, we’ve approved 36 grants in this Wave, amounting to a total of ~780k USD. A special note of gratitude to all teams and individuals whose relentless efforts and creativity make the future of a decentralised web more promising.

Recipients 🚀

Wave 18 comes with several trailblazing projects, with a significant emphasis on smart contract tooling and implementation. The rising interest in this area reflects the growing maturity and improvement of the tooling, making it increasingly more approachable and robust for developers. As such, we’ve seen a surge in grants related to the smart contract domain, both in contracts themselves and for contract tooling that enables a better developer experience. We’ve also seen a significant number of grant proposals that come in response to RFPs.

We maintain a list of all accepted applications on our grants repository here, but for a better reading experience feel free to head to our web-based UI instead.

Below are all the 36 grant recipients of Wave 18.

Apply Now!

As the Web 3.0 ecosystem expands and evolves, we continue to welcome new proposals. Applying for a W3F grant is as simple as submitting a pull request to our grants program repository. For inspiration, an overview of projects in the ecosystem, and broad project ideas we’re interested in funding, you can take a look at our open-source tech stack.

The best way to get your proposal accepted is to outline a comprehensive roadmap. Going over our guidelines, as well as the application template, will give you a general idea of what we look for in a grant application.

For more information on how to apply and for tips on putting together a great application, check out the README and FAQs in our grants program repository on GitHub. We look forward to receiving your application!

Work with us!

The grants program aims to be as open and accessible as possible. If you’re interested in contributing or getting involved, there are several ways you can do that:

  • We are open to milestone evaluations from third parties. If you’re particularly interested in a certain project, or particularly knowledgeable on a relevant subject, submit your own evaluation.
  • We encourage anyone to submit a request for proposals (RFPs). If you find that there is something missing in our ecosystem (a tool, a project, infrastructure, etc.), that we could help fund, please submit an RFP.
  • Join us! We’re currently looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join us full-time. Check out all our current job openings and apply!

We strive to continue improving our grants program and are always open to feedback. If you would like to share any suggestions or criticism, please reach out to us on Github or Element!
