Did you know that four out of ten UK CEO’s believe that cyber attacks are inevitable? — says KPMG survey

Well, the survey was done on 150 UK and 1,150 global leaders, and it was found that 39 percent of them believe that they will targeted by a cyber attack. 74% of the UK leaders also believed that a strong cyber strategy might come as a key to build the trust among shareholders.

However, the percentage was considered to be globally higher, as half of the International CEO’s also feel the same way.

Moreover, the Vice Chairman of KPMG, Bernard Brown also said the cyber security has now become a major agenda for various businesses. It is no longer a boardroom agenda and businesses are following significant defense techniques for avoiding them. He also added the inevitability of the cyber attack has crossed all borders and has also overpowered the threshold for all the discussions.

Brown also added that it’s quite good to see that CEO’s are developing an understanding of what cyber security actually means. Furthermore, they have also started to ask questions to their IT team so that they can get the optimum level of protection from the cyber attacks. Now they have certain questions like — what are the risks; how can we protect ourselves or what can we do to be resilient to a cyber attack.

CEO’s also believes that cyber security is an effective yet helpful step for their business.

Apart from this, organizations are spending more than ever, running simulations and are thinking in depth on how to deal with the data breaches and more.

The KPMG survey also revealed that cyber awareness among the UK leaders is also been changing. As 39% of them believed that they were ‘very well’ prepared for a future attack. And 45% of them believed in having the cyber security experts.

More and more companies are becoming a victim of the rising cyber attack. Recently, Adidas also suffered a data breach that could have exposed the details of millions of customers. On June 26, 2018, Adidas became aware that an unauthorized team claims to have data that is associated with its customers.
