Xing Xing announces the launch of their bike with TMAP

Comprehensive mobility platform, TMAP, has announced on the 31st that it has launched the shared electric bicycle service ‘TMAP Bike’.

Electric bicycles are considered one of the relatively safe personal transportation options. They can be widely used for various last-mile transportation needs, even for longer distances on foot.

The TMAP bike is equipped with a high-output motor suitable for hilly domestic terrain and a double kick stand function that allows stable parking on slopes. It will first be released in six areas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, including Nonhyeon-dong, Samseong-dong, and Yeoksam-dong. Plans to expand to major areas in Seoul such as Seocho-gu, Gwanak-gu, Dongjak-gu, and Gangdong-gu, and southern regions such as Hanam and Anyang in Gyeonggi Province are expected to take place within next month. The pricing is expected to be competitive with or lower than similar services in the industry.

TMAP Mobility stated, “In the future, TMAP users will be able to use a single application for not only navigation but also searching for public transportation routes, reserving airport buses, and utilizing various personal transportation devices like kick scooters and bicycles, all integrated into one platform.”

TMAP Bike is a service launched in collaboration with PUMP, the operator of ‘Xing Xing’, which has proven PM (Public Mobility) operation management capabilities and data competitiveness. T Map Mobility and PUMP plan to continue collaboration in the areas of device placement, management, and promotion.

This service can be accessed through both the TMAP and Xing Xing apps. To celebrate the service launch, TMAP offers the first three basic fare rides for free to all users.

Kim Sang-hoon, CEO of Xing Xing, stated, “I would like to attach great significance to the fact that TMAP, a comprehensive mobility platform, and PUMP, a micromobility specialist company, have entered the market through strategic collaboration. We will continue to maximize the strengths of both companies to provide convenient and enjoyable transportation services to many customers.”

Jeong Jae-wook, portfolio innovation leader at T Map Mobility, emphasized, “Shared electric bicycles are attracting attention as a means of relieving congested urban traffic and environmental pollution by combining the sharing economy with eco-friendly transportation. We will continue to develop into an integrated mobility app that includes personal mobility devices that reach every corner of the neighborhood.”
