Where were you born and where did you grow up?

Johannesburg born and raised.

What was the first job you can remember you ever wanted to do?

I remember wanting to be an astronomer. That is because my dad is very passionate about astronomy.

When did you know for the first time, that you wanted to work in software development?

I started programming in high school and really enjoyed that, but it was only in 2018 when I spent a week at a startup that I realised that I would like to make a career out of software.

What is your favourite Dev Tool?

Visual Studio Code. Fantastic!

What is your favourite part of your job at WeBill?

We get presented with some complicated problems that need solving and that is fun.

You definitely the fittest guy in the office. What inspires you to exercise and stay healthy? And what advice do you have for devs that sit at their desks most of the day?

I’ve always been interested in human performance and trying to eek out little bits of performance here and there. So as a holistic view of the human there are various things that need to fall into place to perform optimally. One of them is exercise. Others are diet, sleep and caffeine of course. Always more caffeine.

Do you Game? What?

I have a very specific genre of gaming. I play Call of Duty offline multi player and that is it.

Do you play sports? What?

I do Crossfit. I used to do rowing.

Favourite app on your home screen?

If you weren’t developing what would you be doing?

I would be an embedded software engineer.
