We are excited to introduce a new feature in WEBKNOSSOS for creating animations of your data.

The WEBKNOSSOS 3D viewport is already excellent for immersive data exploration, enabling you to examine segment meshes and, if desired, the XY, YZ, and XZ microscopy planes of your data. Taking it a step further, we have added a feature to generate beautiful and professional-looking animations using a Blender plugin. These animations illustrate the volumetric image data shrinking to reveal segmented objects, providing a clearer 3D image of the sample.

Example of an animation created in WEBKNOSSOS.

Here’s how it works: simply go to the menu and choose ‘Create Animation.’ Decide on a static or circling camera, adjust resolution, choose whether to integrate meshes, and select the color layer and bounding box for rendering. Grab a coffee and wait a bit while WEBKNOSSOS animates your dataset in the background.

You will find the result in ‘Processing Jobs, where you can download it.

We hope you enjoy this feature and find it valuable for showcasing your data and discoveries! For custom animations like this one, feel free to contact us.
