Welcome to Webspinner!
Webspinner is an Australian music publication that aims to put a spotlight on the local pop/punk, rock, alternative, emo, indie, and overall underground music scene. Webspinner aims to give a diverse range of people a place to grow and learn about opportunities in the local music industry. Webspinner also aims to give smaller bands a place to be seen and heard by the whole community and breaks barriers between bigger bands, their peers, and fans.
Webspinner’s biggest goals are:
1. To bring bands closer to fans through interviews and conversation that breaks the barrier between artists and followers. We’re all just people after all!
2. To cover as many aspects of the Australian music scene as possible — aiming to cover bands, producers, photographers, venues, etc. because there’s more to music behind the performance.
3. To view music through a visual arts lens where possible — connecting music with the arts and culture that help shape different aspects of the music we love.
4. To give a wide variety of different bands and a wide variety of different people in the local scene a voice, embracing all sorts of diversity within music.
Later in the future the goal is to turn Webspinner into a magazine of sorts.

Hello! I’m Gala, it’s good to have you here! Some fun facts about me:
- I’ve lived all over the world
- I’m a bass player and a visual arts and design student in Sydney
- I love film, photography, writing, and music
- I can speak Spanish fluently and am teaching myself French (90% of the stuff I know how to do I taught myself in some way or another — if I don’t know how to do it, I’ll always find a way.)
- I love learning about the things that made the music I love
I put all of this together and created Webspinner on December 16th 2020.
