Why you still need a wedding coordinator even if your venue has someone on-site.

Venue coordinators are really helpful. They’re some of the hardest working folks in the wedding industry, they know exactly what will look best in their space, how many people will comfortably fit and they have no qualms telling guests to smoke farther away from the entrance. HOWEVER, they are not the same as a wedding coordinator, and heck they’ll be the first to tell you this.

Wedding planners often hear from couples that they have a venue coordinator so they do not need a month-of coordinator. The biggest difference is that YOU hired your wedding coordinator, not the venue. Your wedding coordinator’s number one priority is you and your partner. Some venue coordinators will go above and beyond but you can’t count on it say for example the kitchen sets on fire. So here are a few examples to showcase the difference between a venue and a wedding coordinator.

Vendors

Venue Coordinators will ask for a list of each vendor so they are aware of who will be arriving to their space. Wedding coordinators will call each vendor to confirm arrival times, work with the vendors when they arrive to the ceremony space if that’s in a church or elsewhere, deliver personal…
