NEW PERFECT TAN NORTHERN EXPOSURE (poem)
This is a poem written by Klyth Tan.
It’s all going to be fine
fine just fine
nine upon nine
days of forecast sunshine.
(You can travel light!)
Shed that old winter mentality
even Great White Teddy
is running bipolar crazy
about to face Big Grey Grizzly
in a brand new e.c.u
high-drama docu.
(Ecotour tickets selling fast!)
Have a long summer vacation
grab the pole position
feel on top of the world
won’t catch cold
kissing the tip of an iceberg
while the sheets still emerge.
(What an Instagram moment!)
Be a super power saver
not needing the room heater
through many igloo nights
after watching the Lights.
(Friend of the environment!)
Bored with the borealis already
want a killer thriller?
Then get the gear ready
when the morning comes
further the water warms
there’s a good chance
on a dash of danger
to outswim Monster Pointer
who now frequents here
loving the northern exposure
much like everyone does for sure.
(This isn’t fake news. The reality really bites!)
It’s all going to be fine
fine just fine
nine upon nine
days of forecast sunshine.
The weather’s a perfect ten
the skin’s a perfect tan
nobody’s rising against the clime
nobody’s checking the time.
(Look good feel great. Slowly turn over again …)
