The good cause company We Don’t Have Time has launched a new app that collects current news articles about the climate crisis in Swedish and English from all around the world. The news app constitutes one of the main features in the upcoming social network that premiers on Earth Day, April 22nd, 2019.

The aim of We Don’t Have Time’s social network is to bring together a general audience of people who want to collaborate to achieve a fossil-free future by actively influencing decision-makers at every level in society.

On the first day of launch, the app trended on the top chart for news apps in the Swedish App Store. It also made it to the top of the list in the global App Store when searching for “climate news”.

In order to solve the climate crisis, the issue has to become the number one priority. The media and journalists therefore play a major role when it comes to making the climate and its transformation a matter of public interest by publishing news that reflects its importance. Because we don’t have time to wait. Hence, the organization’s name.

‘The climate crisis is the biggest news story ever. We have to solve it in order to save mankind and the future of our children. It should be the headline of every single news article, and an important perspective in every news report. With our app, we want to put climate news in the forefront in order to increase awareness of the problem and its solutions’, says Ingmar Rentzhog, founder and CEO of We Don’t Have Time.

The news tool and the forthcoming social network will make it easier for whoever wants to involve themselves and be a part of the solution. The news app will later automatically update into the full version of the social network app, making all the features of the social network available for those who have downloaded the news app.
