POETRY | SELF-LOVE
A Little Less Trauma
How difficult is it to love yourself?
What would it take to love you?
A little fire in the lungs,
a little poison killing
the fibres in the heart,
boulders rolling down the cheeks,
bruising a blush on the bones,
boxes of memories stacked,
one after the other, like
cargoes ready to be exported
to a different realm, a different reality.
What would it take to love myself?
A little less of it all, perhaps.
