A Random Thought — ART 5
Maybe tomorrow….
When someone close disappears from your life for a long time, all you seek is closure. They left in the same morning as they usually do like the familiar musical note from the same string. Nothing unusual. But that evening, they never returned. The string was broken and the favorite music from your playlist was cut short in the blink of an eye. The closure is somewhere in those extreme notes of life and death. You aren’t sure what they chose or what somebody else chose for them. You want to believe or you’ve this constant tussle in your mind to think that they chose life. They are alive. You think. You overthink . And you tell your mind — “They live somewhere. They would have been here, but they just can’t be here at this time.” But then, all of a sudden, this clinging thought of death destroys every pinch of hope that explores the possibilities of life.
But, the sun does return with a sunrise.
And with every sunrise, you trek with an empty backpack to collect moments from the past. When you think you’re on a familiar terrain, you take a sharp turn or a shortcut in the hope that you will find a new memory. If not, you relive what you’ve already cherished. You are never tired during the journey, but it breaks you when you are at the summit. You think to relax, but questions for closure just overwhelm you. “Where are you? Is everything alright with you?” The trek isn’t over. You don’t want to stay at the peak or get lost in the thoughts, you want to descend to get back home. You don’t want to miss a knock, a bell, or anything that tells you they are still around.
You continue to wait thinking that they will arrive today. You hope to hug them tight, never to leave them again. Neither the question-answers nor the mystery, all you crave is for their presence — that alone is the ultimate closure.
“When you left, it was a beautiful day. It’s spring now — just perfect for your homecoming. Please come back. The world which knew you has moved on, but I’ll wait till I breathe!”
