A Week of Changes
The first blooms of 2025 are…
Last week we had a week of nice warm spring weather and I took full advantage of it. I was able to get some seeds sowed, and by the end of the week I already had little babies popping up. I think this is one of my favorite times gardening. There’s something about seeing the start of what could be.
I’ve needed some sign of a fresh start in my life. I’ve done what I can to start moving towards reaching my goals of opening a new business, and this is just the beginning.
I’ve now got babies of some herbs, grasses, and flowers. Our cold snap has finally come to an end so I expect these to grow well over the next couple of weeks.
It’s hard to see under this pile of leaves. I specifically left it this way though to protect it from the cold snap that we are just finishing up with. Under that pile is a mound of Pink Gaura. It has doubled in size over the last couple of years so I plan on dividing it into two and moving one of the clumps somewhere else.
I love this perennial. It got about three feet tall and the small dainty flowers seemed to dance in the wind. When in bloom, this is what the flowers look…
