One Shock After Another
Sadness, anger, outrage, resolve are the mixtures within my soul these days. That greed, lust for power, racism, sexism, and ego gratification are the driving forces behind the governance of this country are a reality we wake up to every day. We no longer have a two party system, we have Democrats, and we have Trump and his royalists. That so many people seemingly lack the capacity to separate facts from sheer nonsense is what helps sustain such incompetent and amoral leadership.
One example of this is the attack on the credibility of Social Security led by Elon Musk and his sycophants. The clearly erroneous and easily discredited assertions that millions of people over age one hundred, including some one hundred and sixty years old, obviously long since dead, are still receiving social security checks, is a monumental lie. The only error was not purging from the database everyone since its inception in 1935 who has ever received Social Security. This was a bureaucratic oversight. To claim that those people are active recipients despite not receiving any checks is a deliberate attempt to mislead. My parents, long since dead, are undoubtedly included in the list, but not one penny was sent out under their names after their demise.
