An Easter Gift: Flowers For The Future
Instead of a bouquet, I got a place for them to grow
My husband has always been great at giving me flowers. This includes special occasions like holidays and birthdays, but also for no reason — a “just because” gift.
The flowers always brighten my day. He doesn’t spend a lot. Usually, they are from the grocery store, Sam’s Club, or Walmart. But they are lovely, and it truly is the thought that counts.
Women like flowers.
Years ago, when we first moved to Wisconsin and lived in a subdivision, some of my neighbors were recipients of the flowers, too. It was a nice gesture. And I enjoyed the compliments from my girlfriends about how “nice” it was that my husband gave them flowers.
But now that we live up north, and are farther away from grocery stores and big-box stores alike, it is harder to get the flowers to bring home.
