Autumn Yardwork

The blanket out back
Rustles. Orange and brown
And yellow it lays quiltlike
On the lawn
Taking a back seat
To inside chores
Errands and other things

Before we fill the bin
We will bury the boy
In the back yard
Let him rise from the rustle
And…
