The First and New

Now that I’m new,
my whole life has become anew.
Now that I’m new,
I befriended my life anew.

O worry!
why do you worry about me?
O fear!
why do you follow me?
Leaving yesterday’s lane,
I walk on a new path
to find a new world.
The sounds are new.

O sight!
why do you keep looking at me?
O taste!
why are you angry with me?
Me stopping myself,
not speaking the truth.
I have stopped interrupting.
My habits are new.

Peering into my mind
I wish to see myself eye-to-eye
from today
my strengths are new.

Now that I’m new,
my whole life has become anew.
Now that I’m new,
