Bugs, Art, a Snake, and Camping

The lead photo was sunset on Friday. I joined some friends from work for a barbecue that turned into a bonus car camping trip.

This week began and ended with bugs. The aphid invasion seems to be under control for now. I hope it’s over! I also spent some time drawing and painting, walking, hiking, and of course, working.

I spent a few days this week fighting Woolly Aphids. I wrote about the invasion in a separate post. I was prepared to call a pest control company, but it seems like the soapy water in a spray bottle did the trick. At least I hope so!

Before I identified the insects as Woolly Aphids, I took several photos and videos. They stood out bright white against the grey bark of the tree. Once I mixed the soapy water in my spray bottle, I worked on my aim. Before long, I was able to shoot them out of the tree, one at a time. I was spraying the tree before work, during lunch, and after…
