Where is the light
That proverbial one said to be at the end of each tunnel
Darkness is present everywhere
Has taken on substance
Pollutes the very air we breath
Clouding minds
Pervading hearts
Who predicted this human made disaster
Oh many said things would be bad
But even those prophets of doom
Underestimated the scope of the disaster which surrounds us
Where is the light
Future historians will portray this period
As what can be expected when so many factors converge
When rich people out of touch with the common folk
Without moral constraints
Driven by greed and lust for power
Are in the ascendancy
Survival of the fittest has become the American Way
Preservation of white male dominancy a cardinal virtue

At a time when many people had lost faith in government
