Dancing in the Moonlight
Heavenly luminaries mirror our own fragile heart
The moon begins its rounds as the
sun puts itself to bed
Night watchmen on nodding terms
who refuse to shake hands
They cannot help their connection
but circle & keep their distance
Like any flirting couple
they know it’s better not to know
too much keep the enchantment going
I am not looking for more illumination
or to be blinded by your light
just a glance & a brief hello
the glow of endings and beginnings
the warming glow of crepuscular light
