Finally…Another Good Walk

We’ve had several weeks of cold, icy, and snowy weather here.

Those weeks have been long and dreary, especially with the added lockdown in effect. Due to the snow and ice, I could only take walks out to the street and back — which I did countless times.

So when I saw the temperature in the 50s this morning I grabbed my jacket and headed over to the nearby trail. Once there I found ideal walking conditions — blue sky, only a slight breeze, and no one else around.

I took a long walk to the bridge over Burke Creek and just stood there for a long time, enjoying the surrounding beauty and fresh air. Although it’s still pretty wintry looking I could see the beginnings of green grass in the meadow.

I did finally meet a few people but we all stayed far enough to our side of the trail to maintain the prescribed social distance.

I would say that I am looking forward to a similar walk tomorrow but — sigh — a storm is due in tonight.
