Find Me Below the Dirt

A Poem

Photo by jesse orrico on Unsplash

It has nothing to do with dying
this fantasy about living
six feet under the Earth
and burrowing into a cave
so deep that the noise stops

I’ve gone as far as I can into myself
and now I want to dig deeper
I want to unearth the dirt
and shovel me a home
and lay in it and bathe in silence
