Getting Ready to Weed the Garden

What do I need in order to start?

I’m itching to get going on the garden. Right now it is a complete jungle and is so overwhelming to even think about, but you have to start somewhere, right?

It’s been raining nonstop for the past almost two weeks. Today was beautiful. The sun was out and there was a slight breeze and I actually had the day off. The problem was, I also had my grandson.

I know a lot of people take their little ones out with them to work in the garden, but I can’t do that. At least not today.

I live in Florida, and if you ever had you would understand why I can’t as well. There are fire ants everywhere. You destroy one hill and three more pop up somewhere else. There are also snakes. Everywhere.

Now, normally these two things wouldn’t be a problem except for the fact that since I’ve let the garden get taken over weeds that are seven feet tall, you can’t see the ant hills or snakes if they are there.

That’s not a chance I’m willing to take.

Now, my chance to weed is tomorrow. I haven’t checked the weather yet, but I’m remaining hopeful. There are things I’m going to need in order to start though.

I need gloves.
