an unfiltered Photo Piece

Oh, to catch the sunlight streaming through the green foliage — gently touching the ground with its soft golden light.

A light morning warmth for those who start the day early.

Even birds could not resist its warm touch — perching still on the ground, facing the majestic force.

Oh, to start the day with such a blessing…

And to look up only to find the sky dotted with cotton candy clouds…

Oh, how one is so fortunate to be able to cast one’s eyes upon a pale blue sky.

Up above the street signs, and the cars, and the people, cumulus — buoyant, covering the blue canvas.

What more can one ask for?

Amidst the hustle and bustle of a busy metropolitan — city life.
One needs only to look up.

The unfiltered white and blue.

And as the curtain slowly rolls to a close — a collective sigh of content.

Another good day eh?

Close your eyes slowly — savour
Raise those corners of your beautiful lips
Breathe — inhale, exhale

Another day passed.

Hectic, calm, busy, relax, slow, fast, good, bad.
Another day had passed.

Breathe.
Breathe for tomorrow.

Breathe for hope.
Breathe for glory.

Author’s note: This week has been a whirlwind of activities. Knowledge cascading rapidly. I feel like I’m standing under a waterfall of information — completely drenched and soaked to the bones.

I’m currently in the middle of my training —studying to obtain my Personal Training certification and adjusting to my new job in a gym.

It has been a great start of the year.

I have a lot of things on my plate at the moment though.

Lots of things to learn, lots of information and knowledge to digest to be regurgitated in the future. Lots of new skills to learn, to be taught in later days.

It can be overwhelming at times.

*It’s currently 12.30AM (midnight) and I finally get a hold of my dad via Whatsapp video call to wish him a happy birthday. Technically, it’s still his birthday in Indonesia as they are one hour behind.*

There are moments during the day when I just feel absolutely spent.

Then night comes and I feel like I want to keep going despite my sleepiness.

It’s always difficult in the beginning. It’s always difficult before it becomes easy,” my husband had shared with me what is now my daily mantra.

I have a lot to learn, a lot to do.

A whole new routine to adjust to.

A recalibration, essentially.

Although sometimes I felt like crushed by the weight of the tasks and studying I have to do daily now, not one moment did the sky failed to put a smile on my face, a massive sense of gratitude in my heart.

I feel light — like a balloon floating in the vast blue sky — when I look up.

Weightless, untethered.

To be alive.
To be breathing fresh air.
To have something meaningful to do.
To be able to make a difference.

How lucky.

It is now 1AM and here I am, still writing —a little chat with you.

I’m missing all of you here.

Wherever you are, whatever you do, I hope you’re doing well.
I hope happiness follows you everywhere.
I hope you— like me — are having a great start of the year.

And just know this — when I see that clear blue sky, that cotton candy clouds, that soft pastel dusk, sunlight dancing on the morning ground, I will be and am thinking of you.
