Hoping Week 1 Doesn’t Set The Tone For The Year

It was the first week of the year, and this wasn’t the best start — an aggressively positive covid test each — thanks, Santa. We have a plan to remedy this bad start, but more on that later.

Our post-Christmas family gathering had already been cancelled because the person hosting went down with the latest covid strain. In the event, this cloud had a silver lining. We would already have been carrying the infection on the day the gathering was arranged, but we continued to test negative for another few days.

I don’t know if other countries are doing better, but that is the norm for us now. The tests are not keeping up with the new variants. Anyway, the good thing is that we didn’t travel to share germs with the extended family, and by staying home and sleeping for a week, we seem to have kept it to ourselves and we are now testing negative.
