Though Living This Truth Is Not Easy

“I am enough by myself”
Now if only I could truly believe that of myself
Better yet
Live into it

Society indoctrinates you that success
Is the only desirable goal
And this measured by certain not to be questioned standards
Accumulation of wealth being the primary one
Getting into a prestigious university as a means to this end
Status in your community is another
Evidenced by participation in the appropriate clubs and activities
Visible church attendance is still seen as a positive
Marrying right(someone who will boost your chances of success)

Raising children who also achieve
Starting with getting them into the best pre-school
Encourage athletic pursuits
If that is not realistic
Dance and excellence with a musical instrument
Are laudatory alternatives
Of course if they are good at everything
That is even better
Anything to further enhance the family’s prominence
