A newer wattage is rippled through the season
Sterling and yellow in the backdrop behind us
The colour-fade coding our pulse at the edge.
I survey this textured scenery in silence
A closer magenta reducing the outage
A redder bough in the greenery between us.
But fragments break down in scattering angles
Cables decode our comings and goings
And highlight the pushback of the season.
There’s a bluer dialling in the spacing now
Shaded outlines detached from the pairing
Your face under the visor still buoyant in the light.
